PDOTCO was approached to create a short film for The Film Invitational 4×4. The project was a collaborative effort alongside Ryan Kestle and featuring Richard from Designed & Built and Bri Voto.
This marked PDOTCO’s first foray into short film storytelling. It represented a move beyond commercial content into a more narrative-driven format, while staying grounded in automotive and off-road culture.
From concept to final cut, PDOTCO alongside Ryan Kestle led the full production process. The focus was on telling a strong, authentic story rather than relying on spectacle alone. The film was shaped around character, environment, and movement, allowing the vehicles and setting to support the narrative rather than dominate it.
Working closely with collaborators on location, we balanced creative freedom with tight execution. Planning and pacing were critical to delivering a cinematic result within the constraints of a short film format and competition timeline.
The finished film placed in the top three entries at The Film Invitational 4×4—a strong result that validated the creative direction and execution.
Beyond the placement, the project marked an important step for PDOTCO. It demonstrated the ability to execute longer-form, story-led production while maintaining the authenticity and technical discipline expected in the off-road space.
Let’s talk about what you’re building and how we can help bring it to life.
